The Merchant Advisory Group's 2023 APAC Summit on 1-2 November in Singapore proved to be an extraordinary event!  It’s remarkable how it has rapidly grown, despite only being our second annual summit in the APAC region.

Last year, we saw 180 registrations, with an impressive 85% attendance rate, totaling 154 attendees. This is a significant milestone as it doubled our previous attendance record, setting a new high for the MAG's APAC history. This astonishing growth in participation inspires us to keep evolving and aligning our program with the expectations of our merchant community in the APAC region.

The energy at the summit was palpable, with robust attendance in all sessions, active engagement and interaction between the audience and speakers, and plenty of opportunities to network among participants.

The introduction of an exhibit hall added a new dimension to the event, although the numbers increased, the atmosphere remained comfortable and welcoming for everyone.

The Summit agenda was nothing short of exceptional, with a diverse range of industry experts and thought leaders in attendance, the event provided valuable insights that left a lasting impact. The quality of discussions and presentations exceeded our expectations, and the collaborative spirit among participants was truly notable. We delved into pressing topics, explored innovative solutions, and laid the groundwork for the future of the industry.

The summit featured distinguished keynote speakers, including David Mann, Mastercard's Chief Economist, who set the tone with an engaging opening address. To cap off this outstanding event, we were honored to have a fireside chat, hosted by John Drechny and the Right Honorable David Cameron, Former Prime Minister of the U.K., which provided a thought-provoking and insightful conclusion to the summit.

As we reflect on the success of the 2023 APAC Summit, we are committed to building on this momentum and delivering even more exciting and valuable experiences in the years to come.

With this achievement in little over three months, kudos to the entire team and everyone involved in making this summit a resounding success. We are excited about the opportunities and progress that will undoubtedly stem from the connections and knowledge gained during this event.

The successful turnout and engaged participation underscored the growing significance of this event in the region.

The APAC advisory team was thrilled with the outcome of the summit’s growth and success. This is a great feeling for us all and we should be proud of what we have done collectively to help contribute to this success.

Our next APAC in-person merchant meeting will be on 7 March 2024 in Singapore and the next APAC Payments Summit will be 13-15 November at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.  Information will be shared on these and other events as planning continues.
